In this post we shall do a Nikon 50mm 1.4 review for beginners. It is a better lens than the older Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. The price also is higher than the 50 mm 1.8 lens. The build quality is good and so is the image quality. You will get razor sharp images if you use it in stop down mode. The lens handles vignetting and chromatic aberrations in quite a good manner. This Nikon lens is also quite good at distortion control. The lens offers a wider aperture range than the 50 mm 1.8 lens. Nikon has now released a higher end 1.4 G lens which has replaced this older 1.4 D version of this lens. This lens is still available widely and Nikon has no plans to discontinue it in the near future. You need to decide for yourselves whether you need the 1.4 D lens or the newer 1.4 G lens for your needs.
