96Decibels - Site Review

96decibels is an Independent Content Provider and can introduce your music into the Weed system. 96decibels does this by working directly with artists and rightsholders to verify ownership of the songs, test for audio quality, and submit the tracks to Weed for conversion to Weed format.

Currently, their program is open only to songs that have been Weedified through Shared Media Licensing, Inc.'s WeedShare program. However, they are implementing support for MP3s in the very near future. Once your files are Weedified, 96decibels will post them in the music catalog which is accessed via the Music link.

Before any songs are Weedified, the rights to the material must be cleared. Weed does not request any rights from artists, but 96decibels must verify that the individuals who submit music files for Weedification have the legal right to distribute and sell those files.

When people buy them, you'll receive 50% of the purchase price. We do not restrict where an artist may distribute their songs.

You can set any price you like for your music. Download services commonly charge between 79 cents and $2.00 per track.
