Selling Your Music

Taxi.com - Site Review

Taxi is one of the more established sites for independent artists trying to sell their music. They have been running since 1992. They specialize in giving artists, bands, and songwriters real access to the people in the music business who have the power to sign deals.

The way it works is that you pay a set yearly fee and any deal that you do is done directly with the record company, publisher etc. In other words, Taxi are not involved in the end deal that you do.

The yearly fees are:
1 year: $U.S. 299.95
2 years: $U.S. 499.95
3 years: $U.S. 599.95

Record companies, publishers, and music supervisors call them directly to find new artists and bands to sign. They also call to find hit songs, instrumentals and tracks for TV and film placements.

When they get the request, they provide the exact details of the type of music the respective companies (who remain anonymous) are looking for.

If you see a specific request that looks like it's a good match for your music, you can submit your material to TAXI in response. They call these requests "Industry Listings."

A specialist from their team of 200 highly trained industry veterans carefully listens to each song you send in.
Taxi guarantees that the people who listen to every one of your submissions will be experts in the type of music you send in.

If your music is on target for what the listing company has asked for, they send it directly to the person who requested it. Then then let you know which company your music was sent to. If they like it, they'll call you to discuss a potential deal.

They also provide written feedback on your music from the A&R staff.
